The final three weeks present an odd view for the NFL team’s of the Delmarva region. The Ravens quarterback situation is a who’s who of a fantasy football league bargain basement sale. The Eagles and Redskins are very much alive for a playoff spot. Though both teams have a realistic possibility of making the playoffs with a non-winning record. For the NFC East, that may be the parity the NFL promotes, but with the Patriots, Packers, and Steelers consistently making deep runs in the post season, how much real parity is there in the league? Onto this week’s predictions
Kansas City over Ravens – The big news at out of Baltimore this week is that Ryan Mallett was signed to help with quarterback depth. Matt Schaub is dealing with a chest injury. Jimmy Clausen will likely get the start under center. He did throw for a career high 274 yards against Seattle. However, the Ravens only scored six points. OBTW (Oh By The Way for those who aren’t texting literate) the Chiefs are a plus 12 in turnover differential, second best in the NFL. This one has UGLY written all over it.
Cardinals over Eagles – Arizona head coach Bruce Arians takes his revenge out on the City of Brotherly Love for being fired from Temple after the 1988 season. OK, that is probably not even on his radar, but hey it’s an angle. Simply, Arizona is the better team. In 13 games, the Cardinals defense has 16 interceptions. In 11 games at quarterback, the Eagles Sam Bradford has been picked 11 times. Advantage Redbirds. I foresee a close game heading into the fourth quarter, with the Cardinals pulling away for a two score margin win.
Redskins over Bills – Momentum is a big reason why I am going with the boys from D.C. The Redskins win at Chicago last Sunday was their first road victory of the season. They have a solid 6-2 record inside the beltway. Meanwhile the Bills came up short in Philadelphia, are dealing with the moody LeSean McCoy’s non-triumphant return to Lincoln Financial Field, and have lost three of their last four games. Redskins by 10.
