Philadelphia appears close to being named as the host city for the 2017 NFL Draft. A report in NJ.com said the league will make an official announcement by the middle of August.
The draft has been held in Chicago the last two years. Prior to that, New York City had a 49 year run as the host city for the draft.
The Eagles do not own a first round pick in next year’s draft. That was traded to Cleveland as part of the deal that sent the 2016 second overall pick to Philadelphia. The Eagles utilized the pick to select quarterback Carson Wentz.
